Question: Do you leverage my reports or comp data in any way?
Answer: No! The only reason we access your reports or comp data is for tech support. Period.
Question: Your price is ⅓ to ½ of your competitors. How can you do business at these rates?
Answer: First, this is a primarily a self-serve, self-help platform. The entire business model has been designed to be efficient as possible. This keeps our overhead very low. Second, the platform is built on the Google Docs infrastructure, which is remarkably efficient for developers. Operations like server management, back-ups, security, account authorization and much more are built into the platform. Third, we have no debt or outside investors, and are not pressed to push the bottom line.
Question: Where are my templates, files and comps saved?
Answer: Templates and files are saved to your Google drive. Comp data are saved to an online database provided by Google, with the exception of comp images, which are saved to your Google drive. Each database is private to each customer. Comps can be downloaded at anytime.
Question: Can I move my database to StartDeck from another service?
Answer: Yes, we'll help you migrate your comp data. Professional service fees may apply.
Question: Do your provide other professional services, like custom template development?
Answer: No, but we'll show you how to do it - programming skills are not required.
Question: Tom Armstrong is the heart and soul of this operation. What if something happens to Tom?
Answer: We have a business continuity plan in place with a team of six professionals ready to maintain business operations (three developers and three admins - all with extensive experience). This Business Continuity Plan ensures that, regardless of unforeseen circumstances, StartDeck will continue to serve its customers with the same level of professionalism and support.
Question: What's on the road map for StartDeck?
Answer: More template content and general platform enhancements. We are focused on simplifying operations where we can, and improving platform performance. That said, we are in pretty good shape overall, and we'll try not to fix what's not broken!
